Amelie with a notebook!
Remember when I said I'd do a recs page, like, three months ago? Well, I sorta finally did it: doctorsidrat's recs on del.icio.us. So I'll be working on that for most of today, whilst waiting for my Phoenix Wright game to show up.

I'm not really good at writing reviews beyond "I liked it/it was hot/yay porn," so it's best to assume if I've recced something, it's because a) it's well-written, b) it's satisfying to read and c) I think you should read it, too.

Amelie with a notebook!
I've gone and done a stupid thing and ordered a game from Japan that's only in Japanese. No English. I can't read Japanese. The game is a RPG. Knowing what's going on is pretty important! Thus, I'll have to print out a translation (and walkthrough, maybe) and being forced to read it so I know what's going on will probably annoy me. It's less annoying, however, than learning Japanese-- plus I get to piss off my university by printing out a load of pages. Not all at once, though, because I think they cut you off at, like, forty. So I'll have to print twenty pages a day and horde them all up until the weekend when I can really pay attention to the game I can't understand. I may even bind the pages into a book.

The game, by the way, is Mother 3. And I got it for $15. So it might be worth the trouble.

In other news, I finished Phoenix Wright 2 on the 17th. The first three cases are utter rubbish, but the fourth one made up for that. EDGEWORTH I've since started on PW 3, which I also imported from Japan but it has an English option, so that's all right then.

Also I think I want to be the person that goes through and makes sure the script-- the speaking/reading bits, not the programming-- is all fine and dandy with no typos or spelling errors or bad grammar, because whoever checked the Phoenix Wright games did not do a good enough job.

I forgot to mention that I also ordered Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, completely forgetting (my brain! It is dying) that I'll be getting the new Legend of Zelda game in early October. I probably won't even get to Castlevania before I get Zelda, because of school and PW3 and such. :s Just means I'll put it on next month's FOUR GAMES ONLY tab, I suppose.

I've fallen victim to Pottermania, and have ordered a boxset of the first 6 books from Canada. Why from Canada? Because that's the only place I could find the British versions for a relatively cheap price. *MASSIVE EYEROLL* Now I just need to get #7, but those fuckers are going for around $30 including shipping and that's way too much. So I'll just have to wait until, like, Christmas or something. Or even until next summer, when the paperback comes out, so I'll have a matched set. I don't particularly mind waiting, since I've got the first six to read (soonish) and I have lots of other books to read as well. I'll probably run into spoilers (I already did, actually), but I'm sure I'll either forget them by the time I get the book or I won't care.

ANYWAY. Look at this thing. It grows in gel!

Also, since it's summer (in the northern half of the world, anyway), do any of you have any book recs for summer reading? I can't slog through The Historian or The Quincunx right now, I just can't. I need winter for that. So give me titles! Authors! Links to lists! C'mon.

I'm feeling better! WOOHOO. Also I was given a blue bunny for Easter. :3

Which one of you likes Mika? I know I read an entry where someone met him. D: Anyway, he's in this month's TeenVogue, if you're interested and/or didn't know. :D

And speaking of music, Discotech by Young Love is pretty effing addictive. But, then, I always think that anything with "disco" in the title can't be bad (see: Your Disco Needs You, Disco Down).

Look! A TV tracker widget! Now I'll never miss What Not to Wear EVER AGAIN YAY.

Finally, I like this music blog: Big Bad Music.

OMFG I AM SICK. Snot is dripping out my nose and I keep sneezing. Lovely combination, yes?

In other news, I've started reading The Sword in the Stone (original version), and I love it. Disney opened their weddings to gay couples (yay, Disney!). Shut Up! It's Stacey London wasn't as good as I hoped it would be (it seems REALLY FUCKING rehearsed, which isn't fun to watch. At least she doesn't act like she's saying memorized lines--most of the time-- on What Not to Wear.), but I love Stacey, so I'll keep on watching it. And finally, MagsforLess is having a promotion/give-away thing for a free 1-year subscription to certain magazines-- like Blender, which I got.

Oh, and tonight on SciFi is Kaw. It sounds awful, but Sean Patrick Flanery is in it, so I'm DEFINITELY THERE.

ONE MORE THING. On SUISL they featured Kristen Lee's shoes: comfortable heels that you can wear all day and not feel like dying at bedtime. EFFING AWESOME. And she also makes bags!

I want to live in New York City. :D

16th-Mar-2007 03:30 pm - 207. week's goal update
Amelie with a notebook!
An update on my list of goals for this week, as I wrote in my last post:

1. Clean my room. D: It is disgusting and I feel claustrophobic from all the junk piled around the edges. -> Still working on this one. I cleaned around the edges a bit and have been decluttering and/or stuffing things into my closets. So I think I'm on track.
2. Buy a pair of sandals and/or some sort of slip-ons. :D I BOUGHT THE BEST RED WEDGE SANDALS and also a pair of cute white flats. I LOVE SHOES. &hearts
3. Start an "inspiration" notebook. (Like I don't already have enough.) I'll take pictures when I get it going. No pictures, but I've definitely started filling up a notebook with fashion-related images and articles. It's pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
4. Make at least three more French study guides. -> Haven't even started this one yet.
5. Organize my school papers! I have exams coming up and I need to study, thus, organization. -> Nor this.
6. Find a watch that fits. -> Haven't bothered looking yet.
7. Finish reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Finished it on Wednesday during a six-hour reading marathon that left me nearly comatose. w00t!

Also I've got a new goal:
8. Write letter to grandmother.

Oh, and this:
9. Do French homework.

Bother.

On Saturday I went to the library book sale and picked up 10 books for $6. I also got a pretty sweatshirt jacket (not a hoodie, because it has a zipper down the front): dark blue with music notes! 8D OMG I love it.
